STANFORD PRODUCTS LLC ANNOUNCES PLANS FOR 2001

(Salem, IL) Stanford Products LLC President, Theresa McCoy and Michael Heldt, President of Global Press Sales, the parent company of Stanford Products, announced plans today to build a new facility on a five-acre site located in The Salem Industrial Park. The new 10,000 sq. foot facility will house sales, engineering, manufacturing support, administrative and service personnel. The announcement was made jointly with the City of Salem at a press conference in City Hall.

Comments made by Mr. Heldt expressed Stanford's appreciation to the City for their help and support, most especially Mark Williams, Community Development Director; Roger Kinney, City Manager; and the City Council for their dedicated efforts over a period of several months. "Without their help and assistance, we would not be making this announcement," Heldt said.

Stanford Products has long been part of the Salem Community. Heldt stated that the decision to build this facility in Salem demonstrates our level of commitment to our staff and the community. He further stated that the new facility, together with our dedicated and skilled employees, will provide a solid base for continued participation and growth in both the domestic and global marketplace.

Also announced was the appointment of a new Vice President. Effective immediately, Dr. Séamus Lafferty will assume the role of Vice President of Business and Operations. Lafferty, currently employed by Global Press Sales in New Jersey, will relocate to the Salem area. This appointment will further enhance the existing core group of employees of Stanford Products LLC. Heldt echoed sentiments expressed by Global Press Sales CEO, Ed Padilla, that they have every confidence in their personnel to continue the growth of Stanford Products by bringing new and innovative products to market well into the new Millennium.

STANFORD UNVEILS "TWO" NEW ADDITIONS TO ITS PRODUCT LINE

(Salem, IL) Stanford Products LLC debuted two new models of converting equipment at the April CMM International show in Chicago. Its top-of-the-line slitter/rewinder, as well as a new reversing Doctor Machine® were displayed.

The new Model 2038 HC slitter/rewinder provides high capacity roll converting for increased production. High-speed performance allows operation at 2000 fpm. A 40" unwind roll diameter, a 32" rewind roll diameter, and a 70" web width all contribute to the large capacity of this machine. Interchangeable razor, shear or score slitting are available. The 2038 HC is also equipped with a newly designed roll pusher, an integral unload tree, and optional trim removal systems.

Stanford also displayed the latest technology in its Doctor Machine® line. The new Model 156 XLT offers converters the ultimate in light tension control. A dual dancer tension control system is linked with a three motor drive system, allowing the 156 XLT to run a wide range of materials, especially light gauge extensible films and unstable non-wovens. The machine handles a 42" roll diameter on the unwind and rewind, both driven by a 5 hp AC motor. Operating speeds reach 1500 fpm. A driven bottom knife shaft accommodates razor, shear or pneumatic score trimming options.

In January 2000, Stanford's new owner, Ed Padilla, announced to the industry that Stanford would be making changes, placing a heavy emphasis on innovative engineering and customer solutions. Both new models are a result of that combined focus.

Stanford Products LLC engineers a complete line of slitter/rewinders, along with the world's largest selection of Doctor Machines®. The company has offices in both Salem and Woodridge Illinois.

NEW REVERSIBLE TAPER TENSION DOCTOR MACHINE®

(Salem, IL) Stanford Products LLC has released a new reversible Doctor Machine® , the third new equipment design to be released this year. In addition to the 40" diameter extra light tension Doctor Machine® and the 70" wide high capacity duplex Slitter/Rewinder that debuted at CMM in April, a Model 152 LT Reversible Doctor Machine® has now been added to Stanford's product offerings.

The 152 LT has a tension control feature that can provide high tension or low tension, with ranges from 1/8 to 1‡ PLI, making it suitable for a wide range of materials including light films, film laminates, non-wovens and light papers.
