STANFORD PRODUCTS UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP

(Salem, IL) Effective January 31, 2000, the Stanford Division of MAN Roland currently located in Salem, IL was acquired by Stanford Products LLC. Edward R. Padilla, principal owner and President of Stanford Products LLC, an Illinois company, spearheaded the purchase. Mr. Padilla has intimate knowledge of the products and business operations of the company after serving several years as CEO at MAN during its ownership of Stanford.

Stanford products have a rich history dating back to 1943 when Dutch Stanford founded the Stanford Engineering Company. In 1950, the company introduced the Doctor Machine®, which allowed converters to reclaim scrap rolls due to defective printing, mill splices, telescoped rolls or unevenly tensioned rolls. The product line has since evolved and expanded offering customers a broad selection of sophisticated slitters and rewinders. Today, Stanford is recognized as an innovative leader and major player in the converting industry.

Padilla recently said, "I am very pleased to have the opportunity to be associated with Stanford and its great history and potential for the future. We plan on investing heavily in engineering and new product development, while maintaining the company's reputation for quality." Customer input will play a large role in the direction of product advancement.

The transaction gave Stanford Products LLC exclusive rights to manufacture and distribute the Stanford product line and equipment rental services. Manufacturing operations will be moved to the Chicago area, however a Salem office will be maintained. Both MAN and Stanford Products LLC are working together to ensure a successful transition for the vendors and valued customers in order to maintain the quality and excellence those associated with Stanford have come to expect.
